EV Road Trip Day 57
A serendipitous day for a slog day. We departed from the St. Louis western burbs and almost immediately encountered rain and road spray, which continued rhrough most of Missouri and into Kansas, though at Topeka it petered out, and by following the weather apps we dodged some heavy storms.
Also at the Topeka Supercharger, we encountered an interesting fellow Tesla Road Tripper with an unusual, if not creepy, back seat companion. Grogu was thrilled and insisted on a photo. Here, we left a Tesla Cache with the driver.
Kansas, along Interstate-70, is beautiful with flowing green hills, farms, and ranches.
Our final stop was Salina, Kansas. The Tesla Supercharger there is in the parking lot of our hotel, a Holiday Inn Express just north of the interstate. We arrived around 4:00 PM, charged and checked in. Around 4:40, we decided to see what was around for dinner, and drove to downtown Salina to eat at Yaya’s Euro Bistro, a restaurant with a diverse menu, a great wine list, and a friendly staff.
Driving to the restaurant, we encountered some interesting historical architecture, and after dinner, further explored the downtown area, a mill town, and discovered many early-to-mid-20th Century buildings and streetscapes mixed with modern sculptures and murals, certainly an area not to be missed if you are passing by (see photos).
