Meet the Leadership

John S Martinson - President

I co-founded the China Mist Tea Company with a friend in my Scottsdale garage in 1982 and grew it into a national and international business over 34 years, selling it in 2016. That same year, I completed an Executive Master of Sustainability Leadership from Arizona State University’s School of Sustainability.

Today, in addition to my duties at Valley of the Sun EVA, I am a board member, advisor, and executive producer for the American Resilience Project, a nonprofit documentary filmmaker producing films about energy transitions, regenerative agriculture, and transportation electrification.

My wife and I have owned eleven electric vehicles in 23 years, beginning with a 1999 General Motors EV-1. We currently have a 2018 Tesla Model 3 Performance (-), a 2022 Rivian R1T, and a 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E Premium EAWD.

Peter Culin - Vice President

I am a career logistics professional, starting my own business (an agency location for Scan Global Logistics) in 2010.

Our family first went electric with a gently used Nissan LEAF in 2015, adding to our stable another EV in 2018. Soon after, we installed solar panels on our home, a battery backup system and most recently a rain-water retention system. All of these are purposeful – living and leading a more sustainable lifestyle, so we may provide a better opportunity for our planet and children’s future.

In addition to co-founding this chapter with John Martinson, I also serve on the executive board of a local political organization in my home district, where I have been serving in different capacities since 2019.

Marc Wenning - Secretary

I have been working in the IT field for over 20 years, the majority of that time spent working with SharePoint, O365 and mostly recently helping companies with Process Documentation, Process Automation, RPA and E-Sign. I have had solar panels on my house since 2009 and got my 1st EV in 2018 which was a Tesla Model 3 Long Range RWD, and recently got a 21' Tesla Model Y Performance.

Raejean Fellows - Community Liaison

After 23 years as a successful entrepreneur in the staffing industry, Raejean’s second career has been devoted to nonprofits. Heading up the volunteer area of the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy, Raejean guided the Board in policies that positively impacted this growing corps of stewards of the land. Desirous of a retirement lifestyle that eliminated fossil fuels in her home and car, a solar roof and an electric car fulfilled the dream. Passionate about the acceleration of electric vehicle adoption, Raejean served as President of the national Electric Vehicle Association (EVA) for 3 years. Raejean is honored to join the Scottsdale Electric Vehicle Association board, as Treasurer. In the Phoenix area, education and awareness of EVs in the nation's 5th largest city is a mission to which Raejean is excited to make a contribution.
