From someone considering their first electric vehicle to experienced EV owners, our goal is to make reliable, real-world information easy to find and understand.
The Valley of the Sun Electric Vehicle Association connects people, communities, and ideas to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles.
We provide lifelong learning opportunities for anyone curious about EVs — from first-time shoppers to long-time owners — and serve as a trusted resource for cities, businesses, schools, and other organizations.
We host monthly events, participate in partner activities, and share resources through our website, monthly newsletter, direct emails, and social media to keep our members and the public informed and engaged.
Types of Events
Our events range from informal EV meetups to large public Ride & Drives, community partnerships, educational programs, and special events throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area.
Monthly EV Rallies
Held monthly on weekends, usually Saturday mornings, our rallies take place at coffee shops, EV charging stations, or sponsor and partner locations.
These gatherings are casual, social, and welcoming — a chance to meet other members, see a wide variety of EVs, ask questions, and bring friends who may be considering making the switch.
Many rallies are followed by an optional group drive to a local point of interest.
EV Ride & Drives
Ride & Drives combine static vehicle displays with the opportunity to experience an EV firsthand — either as a passenger or behind the wheel with the vehicle owner riding along.
Drives follow safe, established routes and comply with event safety protocols and all traffic laws. Driver eligibility requirements are confirmed before anyone takes the wheel.
National Drive Electric Events
As a chapter of the Electric Vehicle Association, we participate in national programs including Drive Electric Earth Month in April and National Drive Electric Month in September and October.
These larger events bring EV owners, prospective drivers, community organizations, and local partners together to showcase electric transportation and give the public a hands-on opportunity to learn what EV ownership is really like.
Community & Partner Events
We participate in events organized by nonprofit and community partners, frequently bringing EV displays and experienced owners who can answer questions about charging, range, ownership, technology, and everyday life with an EV.
Sponsor & Municipal Events
Sponsors and municipal partners may host events featuring static EV displays, Ride & Drives, educational programming, or a combination of activities.
These events provide another opportunity to connect people directly with EV owners and real-world electric vehicle experiences. Some sponsor events may be private for their employees or customers.
School & College Events
We work with local high schools, colleges, and educational organizations to introduce students to electric vehicles, clean transportation, charging technology, and the rapidly changing automotive industry.
Programs may include vehicle displays, Ride & Drives, demonstrations, presentations, or classroom discussions.
EV Education & Resources
Our work continues beyond events. We share practical EV information through our website, newsletters, email updates, social media, and conversations with people throughout the community.
