Heard Museum STEAM Day

On Saturday, August 24, 2024, DRIVE Electric Arizona: Valley of the Sun hosted a booth and vehicle display at the Heard Museum, during this summer’s final FREE Family Event. In parternship with City of Phoenix Office of Sustainbility, families were able to enjoy a (hot) outdoor electric vehicle display, as well as a (cool) indoor EV hot wheels display and information table.

The theme of the event was “STEAM”, mixing STEM with art. There were opportunities for families to express themselves through art. Additionally, the City of Phoenix setup a hot wheels track with small, solar powered cars. Using a flashlight, children (and adults, too!) were able to aim the light at a car, driving it along the track. This demonstrated, albeit on a miniature scale, the posibilities of what we can do by thinking outside the “ICE-box”.

Youth Membership Manager, Nathan, hosted his popular EV toy car display, now featuring more than 150 vehicles. Anyone that came to our table and signed up for our newsletter was gifted a new-in-box toy EV!

Our display outside consisted of a Cadillac Lyriq, Chevrolet Bolt EUV and Rivian R1S. Dozens of people came by the booth, learning about the benefits of driving electric and touring one of these spectacular EVs.
