Summertime brings many opportunities for different people. This summer found our chapter President, John Martinson, his wife Suzanne and daughter Eco venturing on an epic, nearly 11,000 mile, all-electric road trip!
During their trip, John maintained a daily blog, and our websmaster, Marc Wenning, kept our webpage up-to-date as the trip progressed. If you haven't yet, take the opportunity to check out his daily blog on our website.
John has provided a high-level recap of some stats from his trip below.
"From May 24 to July 25, 2023, we drove our 2023 Tesla Model X (fully loaded with luggage) on a round trip from Scottsdale, Arizona (USA) to visit 29 US States and 6 Canadian Provinces.
Here are the essential stats taken from vehicle via Teslafi Data Logger (with some rounding). A longer report with details will come later.
Total Miles Driven = 10,957
Total Kilometers Driven = 17,633
States visited (29)
Provinces visited (6)
Efficiency = 93% (Drive efficiency is calculated by divided the miles/kilometers driven by the rated/typical miles/kilometers used during the drive sessions)
Wh/mile = 287
Wh/km = 178
Cost of electricity (non-Tesla charges + Tesla Supercharges – free charges) = $392 (US)
Cost of electricity (non-Tesla charges + Tesla Supercharges – free charges) = $521 (CAN)
Average Temp = 72ºF/22ºC
