January Rally: Meet and Drive (West Valley)
On Sunday, January 21, 2024, we held our first Rally of the year! While the weather was rainy and wet, we didn’t let it dampen our spirits.
First up – charging at the Tesla “Magic Dock” Supercharger in Glendale. Non-Tesla vehicles were anxious to squeeze some electrons out of the new Tesla hardware, demonstrating that it’s completely possible for even non-Tesla EV’s to have a good and simple charging experience.
After the charging meetup, most continued west where we stopped together at the Nature Center at White Tank Mountain Park. Here, we learned about various species of animals found in the park, as well as picking up some necessary snacks and such for the hike.
Finally, about half of the original group heading into the park to the Waterfall Trail. The leisurely hike up the trail was wonderful, as we experienced a mostly dry hiking experience. Precipitation was limited to an occasional light mist, and it was perfect weather for such an endeavor.
Once at the waterfall, which was not actually falling (just a puddle on the ground), we enjoyed some lunch before we headed back and done for the day.
