Martin Auto Museum - EV Unveiling
On Sunday August 11th, members, volunteers and guests made their way to the monthly Cars and Coffee event at Martin Auto Museum in Glendale, AZ. Previously, we had a small gathering at July’s event, which was hugely successful.
This time, we were invited specifically to bring as many EVs as we wanted - from BESPOKEV’s, to show cars, to your every day commuter - so we could complement the gathering of classics and exotics that regularly attend this show. We were reserved space specifically for us, giving us lots of room to show off our assortment of 19 electric vehicles.
But, this was an extra special EVent. Just a week or two earlier, the musuem acquired a 2012 Tesla Model S, VIN# 10, and offered our members and guests a free guided tour of the museum to see it up close.
These types of community events (car shows, gatherings, etc) are great venues for us to show our EVs to the general public, and get the word out that normal, every day people enjoy their EVs and want to share their experiences. Sometimes, we get interactions with people that are negative about EVs (because of misinformation), or have never sat in one, so this offers a great way to connect with our community and directly dispel myths about EVs.
If you haven’t had the opportunity to visit this auto museum, it is an absolute gem. It has an enormous collection of cars, many of which are interactive and can be sat in and enjoyed from behind the (not moving) wheel. There is also an arcade, carousel and ballroom. It is fun for the whole family!
