6000 Mile EV Road Trip - Stay 19

Edmonds, Washington | July 23 – 25, 2024

Written by John Martinson

We departed the Port Angeles area for Edmonds, Washington, via the Kingston-Edmonds ferry, a short, line-up, no-reservations on/off ferry. The ferry ride is just 40 minutes from load to unload and runs roughly every hour, although it is recommended to check the morning ferry schedule in case of delays.

Edmonds is a suburb of Seattle and downtown Edmonds is a charming small town with cute shops and restaurants. We ate lunch at Thai Cottage before taking our daughter to Paine Field, a small, suburban airport with direct flights to Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport on Alaska Airlines, which could not have been more convenient.

We then spent the next two nights staying with long-time friends from Phoenix who moved to the area about 16 years ago. It was great catching up with them, spending time in their backyard with views of the Northern Pacific Ocean, harvesting and eating homegrown veggies, and listening to Suzanne and her high school bestie reminisce about their earlier escapades.
