EV Road Trip Day 34
A driving day from the Ferry port in North Sydney to Miramichi, New Brunswick. This was our last leg off the Tesla Supercharger Network.
We’ve been off Tesla’s network now for about 10 days and have had no issues until today. We had zero issues in Newfoundland where there is a DCFC (DC Fast Charger) every 100 km, and all chargers were functioning with no waiting. What did happen today was that after charging to 90% at a North Sydney, CCS charger, we sought to charge at two more CCS charge points on the way to the Aulac, New Brunswick, Tesla Supercharger, but neither of these CCS charge points were functional upon arrival, and so we had to divert off our route to the Tesla Supercharger in Enfield, Nova Scotia, to make it back to Aulac, and then on to Miramichi thus losing about 2 hours. We arrived in Enfield with 13% after reducing our speed and shutting down the A/C, thus recovering about 8% from the predicted state-of-charge upon arrival there, thankful for Tesla’s superior charging tech with multiple dependable charging points per charging station.
We are staying at the Rodd Miramichi River Inn, where the restaurant is good, seating by the river a delight, and convenient L2 charging overnight, welcome.
