EV Road Trip Day 40
Off oui drove to North Hatley in the Eastern Townships of Québec. It was a lovely drive. We even stopped for coffee and TIM’S BITS, the provocatively-named Canadian version of donut holes . Oui arrived at Manoir Hovey around around trois and had a short dejeuner at the Tap Room. Our respective rooms are great; both with outstanding views of Lake Missisquoi (no clue how to pronounce it), on whose banks, the resort sits. Our bathroom even has an electric toilet with some curious controls and a heated seat .
About the region: “The first inhabitants were the Abenaki, who travelled the region for hunting and fishing. The only settlement during the French regime was a trading post at Grandes-Fourches ( Sherbrooke). Shortly after the American Revolution a large number of English Loyalists left the US for Canada and settled in the area of Baie Missisquoi on the northeastern extension of Lac Champlain. In 1791, the British government granted them land in the form of townships.”
Oui relaxed a bit and enjoyed a grossly (amazing) gluttonous gastromaniacal dinner at the hotel’s main restaurant, Le Hatley, which icluded multiple dessert courses.
Multiple Tesla Destination Chargers top off the hotel’s offerings.
