EV Road Trip Day 59
We started off this morning from Denver, heading south to Pueblo West, Colorado, for a brief visit with Joey Ogburn, Sugar, and Tinkerbell, and the rest of her Mini Angel Eyes equine therapy horses and another brief meetup with John’s cousin, Scott Sirota, in Cañon City.
We charged at Colorado Springs, Pueblo, and Poncha Springs, and then Suzanne drove C0-82 to Independence Pass, see: https://www.dangerousroads.org/.../91-independence-pass.... I have previously only driven to the pass from Aspen, at least twice, but never to Aspen. When we arrived at the Continental Divide at the highest point of 12,095 ft, a very nice Harley Davidson biker offered to take our photo. We arrived at the Jerome Hotel in Aspen, our home for the night, and then set about enjoying its extraordinary hospitality. At check-in, we were greeted, with bourbon-based cocktails, our car was taken by the valet and plugged in to the promised Tesla Destination charger for the night, and a tour of the property, which is quite impressive, was provided.
This was my third stay in the Jerome in the 40 years I have visited Aspen, the last in 2018 for my 6,700-mile trip Tesla Road Trip with our then 17-year old son. It was Suzanne’s first, and we made good use of the various venues within.
