EV Road Trip Day 23
We awoke this morning to a coolish, light rain, and I began the day (as all days) in cherchez le café mode and decided to return to our favorite neighborhood independent bohemian coffee place, Nº 9 Coffee Bar at 135 Montague Street, to fetch coffee and scones. At the shop, I met the owner, Sara, who is, not surprisingly, a friend of Tara, the owner of our B&B, Ivy House. Both are Aquarians like our daughter, our son, et moi, and she loves Tarot and magic rocks. She is also a former prominent member of the popular rock band, Bran Van 3000 (BV3), a Canadian Alt Rock and hip hop collective from Montreal.
Sara was sitting at the end of the bar with her small dog, Rocko, in lap, when I introduced myself. I asked if Rocko is friendly and she remarked that he would let me lick him, and both her friend sitting next to her and I caught the error, the friend said to her that she might consider rephrasing that, and we all had a laugh and I said, “I’ll pass…” and then offered him my hand for a brief licking.
We spend most of the day shopping for local artisan items and grapped a bite in a restaurant overlooking the seaport, then returned to Ivy House to rest.
We ordered out for Lebanese pizza and at 8:00p, the fog began rolling in and at 9:03p, we heard a Fog Horn blow one long blast and 2 short blasts and are unsure of the meaning, since it wasn’t followed by other signals. After dinner, we packed up for our trip to Cape Breton Island in the morn.
