EV Road Trip Day 38

Today, we spent the better part of the day at Musée National des Beaux-Arts du Québec. We visited 5 exhibitions, but the three that stood out most to me were:

First, an extraordinary selection of more than 100 works from the Brousseau Inuit Art collection from the past sixty years by more than sixty artists from Nunavik, Québec and from Nunavut and the Northwest Territories. This was our first exposure to Inuit art.

Second, the exhibition US “seeks to spark individual and collective reflection and converging views of self-consciousness and awareness of others. It holds up a mirror to visitors that reflects our society and offers a unique philosophical voyage that hinges on three universal themes, identities, migrations, and territories.”

Third, was Alexander McQueen: Art Meets Fashion, an exhibition organized by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, in collaboration with Musée National des Beaux-Arts du Québec.

“The exhibition highlights the universality of such themes as life, death, nature, mythology, religious belief systems, and the human condition that are central to Alexander McQueen’s artistic approach and explore the interdisciplinarity that defined the career of this internationally renowned creator.”

It was gratifying watching our daughter view the exhibits. I am impressed with her intellectual curiosity and the depth of her understanding.

We then walked back to our hotel and after a brief rest, we retired to the lounge for drinks…I had Catnip
